College of Education, Kumasi, hereafter referred to as THE SRC.
THE SRC shall be the official mouthpiece of the student and participates actively in the
administration of the college through effective representation in the various offices.

The Aims, Objectives and Directive Principles Of SRC Policy

Necessity, they say is the mother of invention. There came a time in the political history of Ghana – a cocktail of tumultuous, joyous, dark and hopeful period. This period had many occurrences that directly and indirectly affected the lives of students in the country. In the wake of this period, students in the bid to protect their interests engaged themselves in a battle. Daunting as this battle of interest was, the students were unrelenting in their resolve. They fought this battle with others of common interests by forming groups and on individual basis.

This battle has been there since but in our case as students of WESLEY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION 100 years of inception of the college there have been numerous advocacies on behalf of the student front. “Together we stand, divided we fall”, is an adage that underscores the importance of unity. This desire for a united front birthed the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), In the year 2008 as a common platform for the collective representation of students in decision-making. The SRC became a force to reckon with in the era of dictatorships as they voiced out the concerns of the masses.

Today, the SRC has grown to embrace a lot more responsibilities and they are considered partners in development, in addition to the earlier mandate of representing the interests of the students, WESLEY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SRC concerns itself with all aspects of students’ welfare within the college. In addition to that, it coordinates the activities of academic, cultural, religious, political and recreational clubs and societies. It also links students with external organizations.
