Brew Riverson (1951), Mr Joseph Eshun (1973), Mr Yaw Ofori (1961), Former Members of the Acting National Executive Council, OUR Principal, Dr Ameyaw Baah, Management, Staff, Current and Past students of our beloved Wesley College of Education, Friends from the media present, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.

 I am deeply humbled.

I would like to thank our EC and his team for an outstanding work, WELL DONE FOR A FREE, FAIR AND TRANSPARENT ELECTIONS I stand before you today as President of the Wesley College Past Students Association (Wescopa), not because I fought and won a contest, but because you – the great family of Wesley College – decided to trust me without a contest. To go unopposed is more demanding than to win an election. It means you have all agreed to place the entire weight of this Great Association on my shoulders. I do not take this lightly. I feel the weight of every year group – from the 1960s to 2025 – on me today. Thank you for this uncommon trust. Thank you for this confidence. This is not my victory. It is a call to duty, and our Victory. Wesley College did not just teach us to read and write. Wesley taught us – “To serve and to lead with character.” The discipline we learned on this campus in Kumasi is what has made us doctors, teachers, farmers, businessmen, and public servants. Now, Mother Wesley is calling us back.

Therefore, today I accept this Presidency with three (3) clear commitments:

  1. A More United WESCOPA

We are one family. Under my Presidency and together with my executivea, there will be a UNITED WESCOPA. In the next 100 days, we will lead a reconciliation and mobilization search to every part of Ghana and beyond to bring our brothers and sisters who have gone silent back home.

  1. A More Impactful WESCOPA

We will move from talk to projects. And we will launch:

  1. The Wesley Legacy Fund – a transparent fund for college development.
  2. The Wesley Mentorship Scheme – linking past students to current students for jobs and guidance.
  3. And the Wesley Welfare Policy – so no member suffers alone in times of sickness, bereavement. or in need.
  4. A More Transparent WESCOPA

You will know what we collect, what we spend, and what we do. Quarterly financial reports will be published to all year group platforms. Accountability is not a slogan, it is my promise to you as Dr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu.

To the outgoing Executives – thank you for holding the fort. You have done your best; and you have passed the baton on to us, and we are grateful. With my Domestic and International experiences, we will Rebuild, Reconnect, and Restore Wesley College.

 MY 3R VISION AGENDA

  1. RECONNECT – Unity & Database We will:
  • Build a comprehensive global database of all Wesco Old Students
  • Reactivate dormant year groups GLOBALLY (USA, UK, Europe, Ghana chapters, and other countries)

To my Executives – let us serve with humility and be guided with dignity.

And to all past students – We need you. We cannot do it alone. A President without people is only a man with a title.

I am your servant. My doors in my hometown, Asotwe, near Ejisu, in Kumasi, in Accra, and wherever I am, is open to you, 24/7.
