Richard Domfeh Named Overall Best Graduating Student
A major highlight of the congregation is the recognition of Richard Domfeh, a graduand of the Bachelor of Education (JHS Education) programme from the Department of Mathematics and ICT, as the Overall Best Graduating Student.
His achievement represents a significant academic milestone and serves as an inspiration to fellow students and aspiring teachers. His recognition also underscores the importance of dedication, discipline, and commitment to academic excellence in teacher education.
The College congratulates Richard Domfeh on this outstanding accomplishment and extends its best wishes to him as he begins the next chapter of his professional journey.
Advancing Teacher Education Through Artificial Intelligence
The theme for this year’s congregation, “AI in Teacher Education: Navigating Innovation and Implementation,” reflects the evolving role of technology in education and the need to prepare teachers to respond effectively to emerging opportunities and challenges.
Artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing lesson planning, the development of instructional materials, assessment, personalised learning, and educational administration. For teacher education institutions, the priority is to equip future teachers with the knowledge, skills, and professional judgement needed to use these technologies responsibly and effectively.
The theme therefore provides an opportunity for reflection on how institutions such as WESCO can strengthen digital competencies, promote innovation in teaching and learning, and prepare graduates for an education system shaped by technological advancement.
As the graduands transition into their professional careers, they are encouraged to embrace lifelong learning, uphold professional ethics, and use appropriate educational technologies to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
A Milestone for WESCO and Its Graduates
The 17th Congregation represents more than the completion of academic programmes; it marks the beginning of a new phase of professional responsibility for the graduating teachers.
WESCO acknowledges the contributions of its management, lecturers, administrative and technical staff, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders whose support has contributed to the academic journey of the graduands.
The College congratulates all 461 graduands on their achievements and encourages them to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, innovation, and service as they contribute to the development of education in Ghana.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
