The Department of Mathematics & ICT of Wesley College of Education has successfully participated in the UENR Tech Fair 2026, reaffirming the College’s commitment to experiential learning, innovation, and digital skills development.

On Friday, 26th June 2026, a delegation from the Department of Mathematics & ICT, led by the Head of Department, Dr. Michael Owusu, and Mr. Alfred Oduro Kwarteng, together with thirteen (13) selected students, attended the UENR Tech Fair 2026 held at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani.

The annual technology fair brought together students, educators, researchers, innovators, and industry professionals to showcase emerging technologies and discuss the future of digital transformation in Ghana. This year’s event was held under the theme:

“Code Around the Clock: Equipping the Youth with Digital Skills to Build a Resilient 24-Hour Economy.”

Throughout the programme, participants explored a wide range of technology exhibitions, including innovative student projects, Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, robotics demonstrations, software solutions, and other digital innovations designed to address real-world challenges. The fair also featured keynote presentations, entrepreneurship sessions, networking opportunities, and discussions on the role of technology in national development.

For the Wesley College delegation, the event provided an invaluable learning experience. Students actively interacted with exhibitors, engaged in insightful discussions, and gained first-hand exposure to emerging technologies that complement their academic studies. The experience encouraged creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking while strengthening their appreciation of technology as a driver of sustainable development.

Beyond the educational sessions, the delegation had the opportunity to network with students, lecturers, researchers, and professionals from various tertiary institutions across the country. These interactions fostered knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional connections that will continue to benefit both staff and students.

The visit also provided memorable moments for participants, who socialised with colleagues from other institutions and captured photographs to commemorate the successful educational excursion.

The Department of Mathematics & ICT expresses its sincere appreciation to the Management of Wesley College of Education for supporting this academic trip. Participation in programmes such as the UENR Tech Fair reflects the College’s dedication to providing students with practical learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and prepare them for careers in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
